Alloy 317/317L is an ‘L Grade’ Austenitic steel that contains molybdenum and low carbon content. It has a greater corrosion resistance as compared to the 304L and 316L Stainless Steel-types. It also bears resistance to sensitization during welding and other thermal processes. In annealed conditions 317L is non-magnetic. Annealing of 317 Stainless Steel Pipe Fittings is performed at 1010 Degree C – 1121 Degree C (1850 Degree F – 2050 Degree F), which should be followed by rapid cooling.
